Oakland: 250 14th – First Renderings for 16-Story Lakeside Tower Emerge
It was just last month that we reported that a 16-story tower was planned for the corner of 14th and Alice in Oakland’s Lakeside area. Now, as part of the city’s design review process, the first renderings of the development have emerged. The project comes from Oakland-based Bay Development and will include 126 apartment units as well as 3,000 square feet of retail along 14th Street. According to planning documents, 110 parking spaces will be provided for residents. It’s good to see that there seems to be a general trend away from providing an overabundance of parking in urban, transit-rich areas like downtown Oakland.
This tower is likely to sail through the design review process if the city’s staff report is any indication. This will be a great addition to the area. Hopefully financing is in place so we can see shovels in the ground early next year!
